Internet Center for 4G-LTE technology
ZyXEL Communications provided web-center for a fixed connection to the network 4G-LTE (Long Term Evolution). Model ZLR-2070S is designed to work in multi-service network operators, service providers of broadband Internet access, IP-telephony and digital television. Equipped with LTE-modem, optional four Ethernet-switch, wireless access point, IEEE 802.11n, dual-port adapter IP-telephony and USB-interface, an Internet Point can be used effectively, both at home and in small office. He is able to connect to the LTE-networks at speeds up to 50 Mbps, far surpassing subscriber devices for the 3G-networks HSPA / EV-DO and even WiMAX.
LTE – the next generation of 3G mobile wireless networks based on IP technology distinguished by high speed data transfer (up to 100 Mbps to the subscriber) and low latency. The first commercial LTE networks are in commercial operation in Stockholm and Oslo. Due to the possibility of organizing the coverage area within a radius of 30 kilometers from the site of the base station ZLR-2070S will be in demand in areas where the lining of the wireline is not economically sensible, as well as for operational high-speed Internet access and telephony services in the field of sports and holiday activities at construction sites, etc.
FAST technology from EMC
EMC has demonstrated the concept of fully automated management of tiered storage, FAST (Fully Automated Storage Tiering), and announced the availability of technology opening new possibilities in the field of storage management. EMC provides a high level of automation of all its core storage platforms allowing organizations with limited resources to competently manage volumes of information, the annual percentage growth in double-digit. New technology EMC FAST is available now and allows you to automate the transfer of information in data storage and save an enormous amount of time that is spent in the performance of routine operations on the storage management manually and calculated for hours or even days. As a result of the middle class equipped with the technology EMC FAST, Corporate Disk Flash (EFD) and SATA drives will surpass its predecessors in performance, while allowing to save up to 20% on the cost of storage devices and up to 40% in operating costs related to storage data.
The Smallest motherboard by VIA
VIA Technologies has announced a new motherboard form factor of Mobile-ITX which has a size of 6×6 cm and it is half in size than its elder sister Pico-ITX and freely placed on the palm. Presented sample was built at the VIA VX800 chipset running CPU VIA C7M with frequency of 1 or 1.2 GHz. In addition to the integrated video this card is equipped with 8-channel sound card and two GB of DDR2 RAM.
The developers suggest to use the Mobile-ITX as a complex with a subsidiary of interface card which will determine the final specifications of the manufacturer depending on the destination of manufactured devices. Modular solution promises to facilitate the partners VIA testing new devices and will save on their own motherboard design.
Mobile-ITX is able to support all types of monitors and it supports IDE, USB 2.0 and PCI Express. The power consumption is about 5 Watts. This fact combined with the Mobile-ITX withstand vibration up to 5g involves a wide range of new items – from medical devices to automobiles. Production of the first commercial sample board is scheduled for the first quarter of 2010.
