23.6-inch multitouch display by Lenovo

Lenovo is preparing to release a new 23.6-inch LCD multitouch display L2461x Wide. Development stands by support of high quality video HD 1080 technology, support of 120 Hz MEMC (Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation) and a brightness of 300 cd/m2. In addition, the novelty, the thickness of which is only 16.9 mm, is equipped with LED-backlit display, integrated 2-megapixel webcam, USB-socket to 4 ports, connectors D-Sub, DVI, HDMI 1.3 and built-in speakers (2h3Vt).

In L2461x Wide, Lenovo plans to shortly launch in the sale and two other models of LCD-Display: 21.5-inch L2261 Wide and 23-inch L2361p Wide. Lenovo L2261 Wide also has the support of the resolution of Full HD 1920 × 1080p, but not equipped with HDMI-interface: for only VGA and DVI. In turn L2361p has an integrated 0.3-megapixel webcam, HDMI interface and a TV stand.

Leadtek released the video card WinFast GT 240

WinFast-GT-240Leadtek Research introduced the line of video cards WinFast GT 240. New items are based on the graphic processor NVIDIA GeForce GT 240. They fully supported operating system Microsoft Windows 7 and software application interface DirectCompute which uses the parallel processing capabilities of modern graphics processors, processing shifts from the CPU to the graphics engine and accelerates the work of multimedia applications.

Line cards WinFast GT 240 consist of several models the core of which is working at 550 MHz. User can select a suitable model – with 512 MB of memory GDDR3, with 1 GB of DDR3 memory card or with ultra-fast GDDR5 memory with a frequency of 3600 MHz. First on sale will go the card with 512 MB of memory GDDR5 in early January. It is followed by a model with 1024 MB of memory GDDR5. Now the processing of large amounts of textures in the new games do not represent a problem for graphics cards.

Nokia tests the first LTE modem

Nokia presented new modem LTE RD-3 wich is available for LTE networks developers, different hardware suppliers and manufacturers of measuring instruments.  Nokia supports any interest in LTE networks and hope to start LTE networks in 2010.

Internet modem Nokia RD-3 is compatible with GSM/EDGE and WCDMA/HSPA. It allowas to use gsm and cdma networks by maximum. In addition Nokia RD-3 is compatible with different LTE frequences. And it can be used in many countries worldwide.

LTE (Long Term Evolution) technology is the 3GPP standard for broadband wireless networks. This standard is evolution os WCDMA/HSPA networks. LTE will open for users many horizons.

Google Android will be supported by 14 more companies

Open Handset Alliance (OHA) created to promote Google Android system on basis of Linux included more 14 members (companies).

Members of OHA became: ARM, Asustek Computer, Sony Ericsson и Toshiba. There are also AKM Semiconductor, Atheros Communications, Borqs, Ericsson, Garmin International, Huawei Technologies, Omron Software, Softbank Mobile Corporation, Teleca AB and Vodafone companies.

Those companies will create new devices working under Android and new services.

It is expected to rise Android’s share of mobile market.

Today you may buy G1 mobile phone (under Android) for 180USD but you have to sign a contract with T-Mobile to use it. However you may order G1 without a contract for 400USD, but this option is available for users who are registered as Android developers. This registration costs 25$.

Dell has announced his new nebook Dell Inspiron Mini 12. The price supposed to be $599.
