Internet company Google completes testing of new TV search engine. As developers say, search engine Google will be installed on the set-top boxes and satellite providers will search for video content. However, until now it has been limited to relatively few people – mostly, Google employees and their families.

TV search service – a joint project between Google and Dish Network, the second largest provider of satellite TV in the U.S.. About the new search engine is known, in particular, that it is designed to work on set-top boxes using the Android operating system from Google. It allows users to find a network provider Dish various content and search videos from online services such as YouTube. In addition, when using this search engine, users can create their own personalized list of video content.

Today at 10.20 by GMT +0 mail service Gmail (gmail.com, mail.google.com) was down and still is offline. At Google, engineers are working under this issue. Thousand of users were unable to login into their gmail accounts.

Although some users told that they checked their email at Gmail using another mail clients and smartphones. So the reason is at Gmail’s website. We recieve packsfrom gmail server and tracerout is ok. So, we should wait….

Update: After two hours and half Gmail seems start working again Good news.

Google is going to throw over advertisements broadcasted by radio. 3 years ago Google bought readio media company dMarc Broadcasting. And now they declared that there was no sense to continue radio advertisement.

This will entail retirement of 40 employees. Notice, that Google has already refused to place ads inside newspapers, motivating it by world financial crisis.

Google has announced new version of Chrome web-browser. Now security specialists approve that there is no Carpet Bomb and other vulnerabilities.

Chrome Patch is available for developers, so you will not get any alert to update Chrome browser.

According to the news from Google Blog there were new stategy of loading Windows files (*.exe, *.dll, *.bat) in Chrome 0.3.154.3.

According to the information from Net Applications Inc. the Chrome share of the market is less than 1%.

Network-Monitoring

It is difficult to say what Picasa is. First of all Picasa, certainly, a powerful organizer for the images finding them on all hard disks and grouping in albums according to various attributes. On the other hand, Picasa is alsp a photo editor. There are no tools for drawing however you can correct a picture or a photo, having changed those or other parameters. At last, Picasa is a service for publishing images on the Internet, and the program represents the client for interaction with the Network.

The third version of Picasa has released in beta-testing mode. And there are some new features wich i would like to review.

First of all Picasa 3.0 can find and contain 1 million photos. If is ver helpful for those who posses photobanks.

New possibility to pre-view photos has been included in the packege also. Now you can preview your photo ore faster and the program shows small sized picture. If you want to edit it just double click and the photo will be opened in the main editorial window. There you will find a lot of instruments to make photo corrections. They are enough powerfull so you can compare them to Photoshop

The most interesting feature is Passport Photo – the tool for face recognizing. But it is in experimental mode now. So it can recognize a face of one person, if the picture has some people the program can not recognize different faces.

Google released a new version of Google Earth: programme to explore the places of our planet. You can see detaild information about cities, landscapes, also 3D modeling is available and even sky map is included in a package.

In a new version 4.3 developers improved 3D building models, now they are downloaded faster and there are more cities in 3D structure. Besides, sunlight function was added, fly mode was improved and street names like in Google Maps viewing was added.
