Nowadays HP Quality Center is the leader among tools for automated software testing with the market share of 61,7%. Its closest competitor is IBM Rational product with the market share of only 16,8%.

HP Quality Center is a complete integrated system with a web interface that provides quality assurance management for diverse IT environments. The Center contains a number of applications and usage recommendations designed to optimize and automate testing processes.

Test Director is the core of Quality Center. It consists of five closely integrated modules that ensure continuity of the testing process. The modules are Service Test Manager, Test Lab, Requirement Manager, Test Plan and Defect Manager. Test Direct allows to specify testing structure; it provides publication of reports and helps to establish cooperation between participants. Quality Center also includes such functional testing tools, as Quick Test Professional and WinRunner.
