1. Windows Starter

Windows Vista Starter can be applied for computers with low configuration and for novice users.  This version is very similar to Vista Home Basic but works at 32-bit variant. Working with Windows Vista Starter users can open only 3 applications at once and connecting to the Internet you can not  use inbound connection network services.  Also there is no  FUS (fast users switch), aero style interface. So this version of Vista is the cheapest one.

2. Windows Vista Home Basis

This is a simple version of Vista family assigned for working only on one home PC.  It is a basis for all the rest Windows Vista versions. There is a Windows Firewall,  Windows Security Center;  wireless network technology; function to care for your children – parental controls; anti-spam and anti-spyware services; modified Movie Maker; a new program Photo Gallery and etc. There is no Aero graphical interface.  Windows Vista Home Basis is analogue to Windows XP Home Edition.

3. Windows Vista Home Premium

This version allows users to get access to all entertainment components such as Media Center, Media Center Extender, development of interactive multimedia applications for DVD, watching HDTV, films montage and  extended network possibilities.

4.  Windows Vista Business

Developed for companies and small business. It is stable, safe and secure version of Windows Vista.  Windows Vista Business allows to connect computers to the domain and control all services, work with third parties protocols (Netware, SNMP), and there is Encrypted File System. It is possible to connect your portable table PCs.

5. Windows Vista Enterprise

Optimized for big companies and enterprises. There are: Virtual PC office, MUI, Secure Startup. Windows Vista Enterprise can be spreaded via Software Assurance application and the following versions can be updated also via Software Assurance including your license.

6. Windows Vista Ultimate

It seems to be the best OS for users. So it includes all components from junior Windows Vista versions.
