New Linux platform for mobile devices

Californian company Azingo (former Celunite) has presented the same name operational system on the basis of kernel Linux intended for use on mobile devices.

Under statements of founders, OS Azingo Mobile is the first platform constructed on the basis of development of organization LiMo Foundation based in the beginning of the last year by companies Motorola, NEC, NTT DoCoMo, Panasonic, Samsung and Vodafone. The Primary goal of project LiMo consists in creation of the unified program platform on the basis of Linux intended for use on mobile phones, communicators and so on. By the way Azingo also is member of LiMo Foundation.

In Azingo especially emphasize that the new operational system is the fullest among all similar platforms. Structure of Azingo Mobile besides a kernel and base components includes accompanying applications, connecting the software and tools of development. All applications in Azingo Mobile are divided into four groups – Mobile Entertainment (mediaplayers, a photo gallery), Mobile Internet (a browser, the RSS-reader and so forth), Mobile Productivity (tools for work with documents) and Mobile Communications (tools of communications).

Developers carry flexibly adjusted user interface to basic advantages Azingo Mobile with support of touch input and animation, support of scaled fonts, tools of localization, and also an opportunity of work with the chamber. Platform Azingo Mobile is already accessible to licensing. In company Azingo mark that negotiations about release of portable devices on the basis of new OS are conducted with several known suppliers however their names are not specified. The first devices on the basis of Azingo Mobile can appear on sale more close by the end of current year.
